Ujjivan Financial Services was awarded the Srijan MFI Transparency Award in the Established MFI Category, on October 8. Ujjivan was assessed based on transparency in pricing and product design, financial literacy initiatives promoting transparency with clients, effectiveness of communication and reporting mechanisms and organizational systems and innovative practices that promote transparency.
Mr. Jolly Zachariah, Ujjivan’s Chief Operating Officer (West), and a graduate of the WWB Advanced Leadership Workshop, accepted the award on behalf of the institution saying, “We are grateful to our 800,000 plus customers across 19 states and Union Territories who provide Ujjivan the opportunity to serve them every day.” Ujjivan is currently working with the Center for Microfinance Leadership at Women’s World Banking to design and implement a workforce diversity strategy.
